Korean giant Hyundai has added to its highly-acclaimed Robex excavator range with the announcement of a new top-of-the-range model, the 50t Robex R500LC-7A. The new machine will be seen publicly for the first time at Intermat in Paris in April 2006.

There are now 17 different size classes in the Korean-built Dash-7 Robex series, from the 1.5t compact up to the new 50-tonner, including minis, and the basic wheeled and crawler excavator models - and there is a total number of no less than 50 models, if all the different track and engine configurations, and special- application variants are counted.

The new R500LC-7A is a totally new addition, not just an upgraded version of the R450LC-7, which remains in the range. The 50t machine has been designed taking into consideration the particular requirements of strength, power and durability required for heavy duty applications such as quarrying and mass-excavation.
